Driver injured as Alfa Romeo leaves SP68 road and hits olive tree near Pedalino
Three Ragusa-based outlets report a single-vehicle crash on the Vittoria–Pedalino provincial road in which the driver was injured and taken for treatment; the cause remains under investigation.

A man was injured in a single-vehicle crash on the Strada Provinciale 68, the road linking Vittoria to Pedalino in south-eastern Sicily, according to reports published in Ragusa. Corriere di Ragusa, La Sicilia — Ragusa and Giornale Ibleo state that an Alfa Romeo 159 left the carriageway and struck an olive tree violently, the car ending up wedged in vegetation.
The same three outlets place the crash at about 00.45 in contrada Salmè, at roughly kilometre 2,700. La Sicilia — Ragusa and Giornale Ibleo add that the site is near the Calì winery; Corriere di Ragusa does not mention that landmark. All three report that the vehicle tore down a metal gate and part of the fence of a private property, and that the impact caused extensive damage both to the car and to the structures hit.
Emergency medical staff treated the driver at the scene and arranged his transfer for further checks and treatment, the three outlets report. Firefighters worked to make the area and the vehicle safe, and police carried out the surveys needed to reconstruct how the crash unfolded. No detail of the driver's condition beyond his having been injured has been published.
La Sicilia — Ragusa and Giornale Ibleo date the crash to the night between Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 October; Corriere di Ragusa describes it only as the night between Saturday and Sunday, without giving dates. All three state that the cause of the loss of control is still being established, and none identifies it. The two outlets that describe the aftermath report that the destroyed gate, the damaged fence and debris from the bodywork were still visible at dawn.
