Woman lightly injured as car overturns in Comiso street after hitting parked vehicles
Local police say the cause of the crash in viale Europa, near the municipal swimming pool, has yet to be established, while one report gives a differing account of the vehicles involved.

A woman was lightly injured this morning when the car she was driving overturned in viale Europa in the town of Comiso, according to local reports. The vehicle — described by two local outlets as a dark, or grey, Jeep Renegade — struck parked cars before coming to rest on its side in the roadway, near the municipal swimming pool.
Medical personnel from the 118 emergency service treated the driver at the scene, and reports say her injuries are not considered serious. Ragusa Oggi states that she was medicated in hospital, and Ragusa H24 that she was taken there; Novetv, by contrast, mentions only first aid administered at the scene, a difference in detail between accounts. Officers of the Polizia Locale carried out the surveys, and fire crews removed the vehicle and cleared the carriageway, according to Ragusa Oggi and Ragusa H24. Traffic was reduced to a single lane during the rescue and recovery operation, with the other lane remaining open in the direction of Comiso.
The cause of the crash has not been established. Novetv reports that the dynamics are still to be defined, and other outlets say the reasons for the loss of control remain under investigation. Accounts differ on how many vehicles were involved. Radio RTM describes a collision between three cars — the Jeep, a white Kia Sportage and a black Nissan Qashqai — with two people injured and an ambulance dispatched by the 115 service, adding that no further details on the injured are available. The remaining eight reports describe a single car driven by a woman hitting parked vehicles, with one person lightly injured. Two reports state that she was travelling in the direction of Pedalino at the time.
The number of parked cars struck is also reported variously: Ragusa Oggi and Ragusa H24 refer to one parked car, Novetv to two, while several others say only that some parked vehicles were hit. Viale Europa is described locally as an important artery of the town, where traffic slowed during the operation. The investigation remains open, and the toll as reported by most outlets is one person lightly injured, with Radio RTM's account of two injured unconfirmed elsewhere.
